The introduction of Wags into the home went about as smooth as could be expected. The inside cat hid under a futon. My dog, Choc, barked non-stop. And Wags just stuck to Evan like glue. From the moment we picked up Wags, he was Evan's responsibility. Evan has walked him, fed him, watered him, played with him, slept with him. Yes, slept with him. Either in the floor or in his bed. I'm not stupid enough to make the 'no dog in the bed' rule because Evan sleeps with his door closed. And I can't go in without knocking...because there are things I DON'T want to accidentally see... and knocking would give them enough time to get off the bed, so really, what would I be doing but setting up a rule I KNOW would be broken? Anyway, the dog is officially Evan's. Last night before bed Evan had to take care of the bedtime bathroom trip. Wags wandered from room to room until he determined that Evan was in the bathroom. At that point, he sniffed under the door and plopped down to wait. Here are a few pics from the weekend.
I loved that they immediately took to one another. Reading your post and seeing the pictures, you can defintely see and feel the love!

ReplyDeleteOur boxer follows me and tucks the kids in at night.Even sniffs their noses and gives them a kiss. I swear they are the sweetest things.
Good for Evan taking such good care of him. Good stuff all around!
BTW, how old is Wags?

ReplyDeleteWe are not exactly sure how old Wags is... We were told he was over a year old. That's all we know! He's playful, but not like a hyper puppy.
I was just thinking this morning that you had a Boxer. They are awesome dogs. I grew up with one - she was an angel. And my brother and his wife have had several since they got married - 15 years ago?
I'm just glad to see Evan attached to him. His attitude has been so much better since Friday. SO much better.
I LOVE IT!!! ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!! DOGS AND KIDS ~ Pay attention to them, they "know" stuff we don't!!! Wags knows a good heart when he 'sees' it! I actaully got a little teary reading your post! Love the bathroom story!! I AM SO EXCITED!! SO WONDERFULLY EXCITED!! This is definitely a win-win-win-win-win....
